LGBT Equality Caucus Discussion: Understanding the "T" in LGBT

Caucus Co-Chairs, Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) and Barney Frank (D-MA), and Jared Polis (D-CO), sponsored a discussion on "Understanding the T in LGBT." Four transgender Americans from across the country lead a discussion about their lives and the legislative issues that are so urgently needed by transgender individuals. The discussion was moderated by Mara Keisling, Executive Director, National Center for Transgender Equality (NCTE). Participants included:

Monica Cross, a seminary student at the Pacific School of Religion in California and a retired 22-year veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Masen Davis, the Executive Director of the Transgender Law Center in San Francisco, CA and a lead researcher on a new study of the economic health of transgender Californians.

Gunner Scott, a founding member and the Executive Director of The Massachusetts Transgender Political Coalition (MTPC) and former member of the Massachusetts Commission for GLBT Youth.

Amanda Simpson, the Deputy Director for Ground Force Protection and Netted Systems at Raytheon Missile Systems in Tucson, AZ.
